why plants from a distant galaxy are saving the planet

I was having drinks at the park with some friends and one of them started mentioning this weird story about a somehow advanced entity, half-plant, half-alien mixed with something else that came to the planet centuries ago to study and teach us basic common sense towards nature, for life improvement.

At first, I had a humble but encouraging laugh because, hey! it’s my mate so let’s be supportive, but also, I love stories and being entertained, so why not keep this guy talking and see where it ends up?

Loosened up by then, he (I’m gonna call him Sam) puts out some gimmicks and catchy words indicating us it was time for show time!- at this point we were all hooked.

“About 65 million years ago (at the end of the Cretaceous Period) dinosaurs said bye to everyone and were not seen again after an asteroid hit the earth on the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. Bringing along with it a rapid change in the climate and damaging the atmosphere for a long period of time, supposedly”.

“Ok mate” — I said to him, and asked him to pass me another beer because I was feeling like I was back at primary school getting lectured by Mr. Davila - which by the way was a perv and got kicked out from that school, but that’s another story.

So going back to Sam, he finally returns to the alien-plants story and drops their name. Treepoids! Treepoids! Treepoids! according to him these beings were in that same asteroid that hit Earth and haven’t left since.

WHAT?!!! at this point I’m getting pissed because I’m not drunk enough to listen to this crap but also, I want him to wrap it up, move on and hopefully let me enjoy this beautiful weather.…….FUCK!!!!

Eventually he shouts out: Guys, what do you think of the story? This is actually the plot of the campaign for a new 2D game we are working on at the agency… It should be highly educational, mysterious and fun but I’m kind of lost. Do you guys think it’s a good idea? Any input will be appreciated.

I say to him: Nice one mate! I like it a lot! I would just like to have another beer and play your game ASAP!
